Have you ever tried to ask a person if they do not have a favorite holiday? Usually around a major holiday you are asked if that particular holiday is your favorite. It is either that question or the more traditional question, “What is your favorite holiday?” I would guess that the two majority leaders would be Christmas and Thanksgiving. Trying to argue against one or the other would be a lot easier than arguing against both. Some people in America do not celebrate Christmas, this is true. Finding someone who does not celebrate both in some capacity is a lot harder. Now if we grew this list even longer, to say six or seven major holidays, think of how hard it would be to find a reason not to celebrate any of these. The point was probably made several statements ago; everybody loves celebrating every now and again. Growing up as a kid I would have probably told you Christmas was my favorite. The snow coming down meant that it was hockey season in addition to the presents and time with family. Now I would probably tell you that when Independence Day rolls around I am geared up for cookouts, friends, fireworks, drive inns, beaches, pools and more. This week at Camp Krem it is holiday week. Each day will represent a different holiday theme and host its own unique activities. Tonight there will be a Valentine’s Day Dance for the night activity.
In a different part of camp, this week in Travel Camp they are prepping for the featured trip of the summer. The group will head up towards Sacramento, put on their life jackets and dive into the water for a white water rafting trip of a lifetime. The trip will extend past our six day session and into the weekend. Updates, pictures and possibly some video will hopefully be uploaded onto the blog by the time the trip ends. As always pictures are uploaded almost daily onto this website.
Happy Holidays,
From: Camp Krem
