Travel Camp is a very unique program at Camp Krem. This year Travel Camp will spend the first couple days of a session based out of Camp Krem. Campers will have the opportunity to visit local and state parks located within close proximity to Camp. After these first few days Travel Camp will reclaim its notorious reputation for roaming the great state of California and its most famous parks. During session one our Travel Campers greatly enjoyed the four days we stayed at Samuel P. Taylor State Park. After spending the first part of the session in Outdoor Camp (ODC), we finally got to leave Camp Krem to sleep out in the wilderness. After dealing with the pesky mosquitoes, they finally left us alone up at Samuel P. Taylor and we got to enjoy exploring the campground trails throughout the entire first day. Next, our trip to Point Reyer lighthouse was a cold, fog filled day, and even though we couldn’t even see the lighthouse, we heard it and knew it was there. We finished the day by visiting a State Park visitor center to learn about earthquakes. On the last full day of the session we arrived back at Main Camp, where we were greeted by staff and campers alike. As part of Camp Krem tradition we took part in the final camp final where awards are handed out along side some fun songs and skits. This is the perfect way to end a great session.
