New Additions: Camp's New Garden

“Why are flowers so lazy? Because they’re always in BEDS!!!” jokes Outdoor camp’s Clark Appleton upon laying eyes upon the new garden.

From experience, small changes tend to make the largest differences. One of the many new changes we have at camp this year are our beautiful new flower beds and vegetable gardens. A team of carpenters featuring founder Alex Krem’s own son, came and installed the beautiful redwood boxes along with a brand new composting center. This Friday, campers planted a wide variety of vegetables and herbs in the garden in small neat rows. They also had a chance to plant seeds inside of peat pots, and take home the seedling.

Camp Krem takes great pride in creating opportunities for campers to develop, or fine tune practical living skills. By creating the first steps toward a sustainable camp with the help of our campers, we resultantly lay foundation for larger strides. With thanks to our new garden we now have created potential for future generations of campers to grow and flourish.
